When the Lytle Preserve was purchased from the Nature Conservancy, Brigham Young University guaranteed that the land would be held in perpetuity as a nature preserve for education and research. In order to fulfil this promise, we need your help.
The Lytle is supported, in part, by endowment earnings. Specifically, there are two endowments that provide spendable income to help cover the basic operational costs of the preserve. The “Lytle Endowment” was initially funded with a gift from Hildegard Scheuber a remarkably generous woman who lived in Washington County for many years. Since the initial gift many people have contributed to the “Lytle Endowment” including a final generous gift from Hildegard Scheuber at her death. In addition, the Lytle also receives some spendable income from the “Florence and Duane Butler Endowment.”
Our goal is to raise one million dollars as an endowment fund for the upkeep and operation of the preserve.
